Charting the Territory

Born of oppertunity

Research was conducted on mobile apps in the productivity, mental health, organizational, and inspirational spaces to identify reveal areas of opportunity. Few apps addressed the specific needs of creatives, particularly the challenges of balancing structure with flexibility while managing burnout and maintaining creative momentum.

Understanding needs

Interviews were conducted with a design student and a working designer. Though limited in scope, the insights gathered provided a deeper understanding of the creative workflow and common challenges, allowing for the development of user personas to guide the design process.

Working out details

Based on research into designers’ needs including managing time, reducing overwhelm, documenting ideas with effective tools, and transferring files an app was developed that combines mindfulness features, time management tools, and a solid interface for cloud services and creative documentation.
